Artist's Description
I had prepared a black gesso'ed canvas to play with and thought about putting a bright flower on it, but I had done that before (you can see some in my flowers gallery). Then I remembered the photos that I took in Boston a couple of years ago at the Museum of Fine Art when they had an exhibit of glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly. After working on representational pieces for so long, this was really play and a joy to paint.
