Chanukah is coming early this year (2013), at the same time as Thanksgiving. This holiday celebrates our freedom to worship the divine as Jews. It is not a holiday to give many gifts, but has been commercialized as has Christmas. The background is from a photo I took of the sunset from my window (our house faces west).
